Post PLTC Blues...

Hi Guys...

PLTC 09 has finally ended. All the tekan sessions, horrendous living conditions and evil things we do to you are OVER!!

That aside, from the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for giving my committee and I a chance to even have this PLTC with you guys. You have all taught us many valuable lessons which we will cherish for the rest of our scouting journey.

I have gotten a few emails, SMSes and FB messages from some of you guys and I am truly touched by the content of the messages. You have taken the time to think & reflect on the things that we have all said at one point of another. Thats really great!! However remember...DOn't just reflect and think, ACTION is also important!!

If you felt that you have done something which is less than acceptable, talk it out with your seniors or peers & find ways to improve on it. Even for me, as a leader/rover, I still have much to improve & learn. I do fail or feel like I have let down people...but it doesn't stop there with me feeling sorry for myself...

Instead I talk things out with my patrol...yes..my patrol of rovers & committee members. End of the day, what ever committee or crew you are in is a BIG BIG patrol. We will then learn from each other's strength & weakness. You will not be alone in you patrol...

So guys bottom line is...NEVER GIVE UP!! Constantly find ways to improve on yourself. Never put down a challenge:)

PLTC 09 Day 1 Info

Dear Scouts,

We are only 1 day away from PLTC!!

I hope you have prepared and are ready to go for the camp. The camp staff are all very excited & ready to go for the camp!! What about all of you?

All your preparations & efforts will be seen during the camp. So don't give up yet:)

Below are some information for all of you.

Reporting Time: 0800hrs

Date: 20 Nov 2009

Day: FRIDAY

Venue: Sarimbun Scout Camp MPH

Attire: FULL Scout Uniform with NATIONAL SCARF

When you arrive at camp this is what you need to do:

1. Register with Venture Karmun

2. Check that your name is correctly spelt

3. Place your bag NEATLY in the MPH

4. Prepare for the flag break

Those are the 4 simply instructions which we would appreciate you follow.

Remember you will be attending a TRAINING CAMP. No monkey business will be tolerated.

PLTC 09 Seminar Replacement

Dear Scouts,

Please take note of the following.

For those of you who did not complete all the sessions of the PLTC 09 Seminar, you will be required to attend the replacement seminar held the coming week. This seminar also applies to the scouts who has not attended the seminar on the 31 Nov 09

Details are as follows:

PLTC 09 Pioneering Committee

Dear Committee members,

1. I need 4-5 volunteers from the pioneering committee to assist CC to cut some spars on 18/11, 8am. Volunteers, please sms me your contacts (to 82228271) ASAP.


2. Zhi Min is helping me compile all your contact details. Please furnish him with:-
- Full Name
- Which sub-camp and patrol you are in (for this PLTC)
- Which Scout unit you are from
- HP Number
- Email address

3. Pioneering project is a camp gateway and the committee is supposed to send me the draft proposal. I am setting the deadline to be on 13/11, 2359hrs. Send the proposal to my email, suyong_87@hotmail.com. You are allowed to do your research from the Internet, or you could draw, scan, then email the design to me. I need details on the number of spars (long, medium, short) to facilitate logistics.
